analog sessions: fletcher inn editorial

Winter was unbelievably long in New England this year.  (Isn't it always!?!)  We got our fill of snow piles, frigid temps, iced roads, and all that other winter goodness.  So when the snow finally lifted and some warm air settled in, nothing felt better than to start shooting again.

I went full analog for this shoot!  I tend to shoot use both my digital and film cameras during a shoot, but I wanted to play and try something different.  I went all in on film for this shoot, using mostly my Mamiya 645 with a little Polaroid Land camera and Fuji Instax thrown in there, too.  Eeek, I loved it!  Slowed down a bit and tried to really enjoy the process of working with film and those precious 16 shots per roll.  Enjoy enjoy :)

Camera: Mamiya 645 1000s     ♥     Film: Kodak Portra 400 & 160

analog adventures: a maine travel story

Two of my absolute favorite poets are from New England.  My former English teacherness comes out when I start talking poetry and literature, so I'll keep it short.  But when we moved to New England and I realized both Edna St. Vincent Millay and e.e. cummings grew up nearby, I had a pretty nerdy freak out.

So Ronald and I planned a trip.  We traveled up to Camden, Maine to explore the childhood home of Edna St. Vincent Millay.  Oh, it was so cool!  We found the street where she lived, and  Ronald even talked to a man whose grandfather knew Millay.  She used to hang out on his porch!  We saw landmarks of where she started reading her poetry.  We saw the mountains and the waters she wrote so many poems about.  I was in poetry heaven.

I documented the trip on film with my Mamiya 645 and some Portra 160.  Developed by the folks over at The FINDlab.  Now to start planning the e.e. cummings trip! :)

winter in new england

Living in a camper during a New Hampshire winter is absolutely no joke, but we are surviving!  Honestly, it's going much more smoothly than I would have guessed.  Save a day or two of frozen pipes and a few snowstorms, we have been staying nice and cozy in our little camper.

Here's an instagram roundup of this crazy cold New England winter!  My favorites... little ice houses on the lake and seeing what the world looks like covered in three feet of snow.  So cool!

analog sessions: krimson

For most of my photo shoots, I play around with both digital and film photography.  I love incorporating some medium format film work during my sessions, and I'm usually snapping away with a polaroid or two at the same time.  Definitely way too many cameras around my neck!

I ran a roll through my Mamiya 645 during Krimson's shoot and here are a couple of my favorites!  [You can also see the digital images here.]

Shot on Portra 400 and developed by The FINDlab.
