[for photographers] quicktips :: the perfect photo shoot accessory and you could be wearing it right now

I do love a good reflector.  They bounce some nice light into your subject's face, brightening up the eyes with pretty catchlights and fixing all of those dark shadows.  For a no-flash photographer like me, it really is the way to go.

I usually tote around this bad boy, even though I hate carrying extra baggage on a photo shoot.  Extra gear means something extra to trip over.  So, as much as I love good old Mr. Reflector, it usually gets left in the car or thrown off to the side.

My solution to my reflector woes???  You might want to sit down, 'cause this is going to be big...  A white t-shirt.

Yep.  The white t-shirt.  Wearing a white shirt gives me that small pop of light that I am looking for with a reflector but adds no extra baggage.  (And gives me one less thing to trip over in front of my clients, but I'm just going to keep that one to myself.)

And as an added bonus, the white shirt also reduces weird color casts* in your photos.  Win-win.

*Try wearing a bright green (or pink or orange, etc.) shirt to a photo shoot.  More often than not, you will end up with odd green tint to your photos on your client's skin.  Light reflects off of your shirt into your client's face, and it is a complete pain to get rid of in post processing.  Wear a white shirt, no weird color cast.  Yay!

P.S. I hope this quick tip was helpful!  Let me know how you feel about it and if you have tried it in the comments :)
